In observance of International Women’s Day 2025, the Rotaract Club of Georgetown Central successfully executed InspireHer, a women’s empowerment project aimed at uplifting and educating women in Bartica, Region 7.
The project, organized by the Club’s International Service and Community Service Committees, was held at the Bartica Community Centre on March 8. It catered to 31 women, including both local residents and Venezuelan migrants living in the area.
InspireHer featured an interactive empowerment session that covered key topics such as family planning, financial literacy, and gender-based violence. These sessions were led by facilitators from Blossom Inc. Guyana, a local NGO focused on child advocacy, migrant and host community support, and educational outreach.
Facilitators included Ms. Arlyne Ramdatt, Ms. Joses Solomon, and Ms. Mayerlin Martiarena. Recognizing the diverse backgrounds of the participants, the session was conducted in both English and Spanish to ensure inclusivity.
In addition to the informative session, each participant received a hamper of personal deva items donated by the Club.
The InspireHer project reflects the Rotaract Club of Georgetown Central’s ongoing commitment to fostering inclusivity and empowering vulnerable groups. The Club has expressed its intention to continue executing similar initiatives in the future.
